In the State of Missouri, the Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners is charged with the task of upholding the professional standards of the cosmetology profession. The Board, for example, issues licenses to aspriging cosmetologists like you.
In the State of Missouri, the Board of Cosmetology and Barber Examiners partnered with Professional Credential Services, Inc. to administer its exams. The exams use the National-Interstate Council of State Board of Cosmetology testing format. In order to take the exam, you will need to submit an application that shows you are 17-years-old and have completed the necessary coursework hours. You also must provide a copy of a training affidavit.
Once your application is approved, you will be issued a temporary permit. The fee to take the written and practical exam is $135. The written and theory exam is administered on a computer-based platform at a PSI Testing Center. Test takers are provided 90 minutes to complete the exam. You will be tested on scientific concepts, hair care and services, skin care and services, and nail care and services.
